There's a great site with a bunch of helpful links for those opposed to the RIAA's latest madness. Honestly, the best way to beat this is to not comply with the RIAA. They can't throw half the population in jail.

In Canada they collect $$ from the sale of every casette tape, VHS tape and blank CD-R, and give it to the movie and music industry. The theory is, so many people will use these items illegally, that they (the government) collect a fee from each sale and give it to the big companies.

Thus I have ALREADY PAID the fees required and can copy AT WILL with a clear conscience [img]smile.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/party.gif[/img]

I know for a fact that they do that here in America with blank audio tapes and blank video tapes, and blank floppy disk, though that's out of date now. [img]smile.gif[/img] It'll happen with blank CDs soon.
